Roman Emperor (reigned 306-337). Son of Constantius I. He resolved the chaos following the abdication of Diocletian and unified the empire. He issued the Edict of Milan, granting religious freedom, became a Christian himself, and tried to mediate conflicts within the church (Council of Nicaea).
