Ishikawa Ienari

He was a military commander during the Sengoku and Azuchi-Momoyama periods, and a senior vassal of Tokugawa Ieyasu. His father was Kiyokane, and his mother Myosaini was the elder sister of Ieyasu's mother Odai. In 1558 (Eiroku 1), he was the vanguard of Matsudaira Motoyasu's (Ieyasu) first battle, the attack on Terabe Castle in Mikawa. During the Mikawa Ikko Ikki uprising in 1563, he converted to the Jodo sect and followed Ieyasu. After the Ikko Ikki uprising was quelled the following year, a military command system was established that divided Mikawa into East and West, and Ienari was in charge of the generals of Western Mikawa as their leader. After the capture of Kakegawa Castle in Totomi Province in 1569, Ienari became the castle guard and handed over command of the generals of Western Mikawa to his nephew Ishikawa Kazumasa. In 1580 (Tensho 8), he handed over the family headship to Yasumichi, and after Ieyasu was transferred to the Kanto region in 1590, he was given a retirement allowance of 5,000 koku in Umenawa, Izu Province. After Yasumichi's death in 1607 (Keicho 12), he moved to Ogaki Castle in Mino Province to assist his eldest grandson Tadayoshi, who was still a child, and passed away in 1609.

戦国・安土桃山時代の武将で、徳川家康の重臣。父は清兼(きよかね)、母妙西尼は家康の母於大(おだい)の実姉。1558年（永禄1）の松平元康（家康）の初陣、三河寺部城(てらべじょう)攻めで先鋒となる。1563年の三河一向一揆では、浄土宗に改宗して家康に従う。翌年一向一揆を鎮定した頃から、三河を東西に二分した軍事指揮体系がとられるようになり、家成は旗頭(はたがしら)として西三河の諸将を統括。1569年に遠江国掛川城を攻略すると、家成はその城番となり、西三河諸将の指揮権は甥石川数正(かずまさ)に譲った。1580年（天正8）に家督を康通(やすみち)に譲り、1590年の家康の関東転封後、伊豆国梅縄(うめなわ)で隠居料5000石を賜る。1607年（慶長12）の康通死去後、嫡孫忠義が幼少だったため美濃国大垣城に移って補佐し、1609年に没した。
