Huzhou Mirror (English: Hu-zhou-jing)

Huzhou Mirror (English: Hu-zhou-jing)
Mirrors produced in the Song Dynasty in China, mainly in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, as well as in Suzhou, Hangzhou, Mingzhou, Changzhou, Xiuzhou, and Raozhou, Jiangxi Province. Many of these mirrors have no pattern on the back, and it is common to cast an inscription such as "Huzhou Shinseki-ya, Nenjishu Shoko." They were also exported overseas. The main shapes are round, square, boar's eye, handled, eight-ridged, six-ridged, and six-flowered, and these shapes had a great influence on Japanese mirrors. There are examples of Huzhou mirrors unearthed from ruins in Korea, and they have also been excavated from sutra mounds in Japan.
