Gunge [town] - Kooge
A former town in Yazu District, eastern Tottori Prefecture. It straddles the Kisaichi River and Hatto River basins. It is the junction of the Inbi Line and Wakasa Railway. It produces a large number of 20th century pears. Kunoji ware is famous. There is the remains of the tower of the abandoned Hajimomoi temple (historic site). In March 2005, it merged with Funaoka Town and Hatto Town in Yazu District to become a town, Yazu Town. 85.53 km2 . Population 10,378 (2003).
