[Fail-safe design]
A design that takes into consideration the safety of the system even if a malfunction occurs. For example, even if an aircraft's hydraulic generating pump malfunctions, the landing gear can still be extended using the high-pressure oil stored in the hydraulic reserve server, and even if the entire hydraulic operating system does not work due to another malfunction, the landing gear can still be extended using a separate manual system.
