Chinese politician and poet of the early Northern Song Dynasty. He was from Xiashao, Huazhou (Shaanxi Province). His pen name was Pingzhong, and his posthumous name was Zhongmin. In the 4th year of the Taiping Xingguo Era (979), he passed the Jinshi examination. He served as a member of the Dali Council, a direct scholar of the Privy Council, and a salt and iron judge, and was highly trusted by Emperor Taizong, but was demoted to the provinces because he was too rigid. When Emperor Zhenzong ascended to the throne, he returned to the central government and became prime minister in the 1st year of the Jingde Era (1004), where he made a great contribution to the Khitan invasion. He was later appointed Duke of Lai, and was also known as Koulai Gong. However, he was demoted again, and died as Sima of Hengzhou (Hunan Province). He was highly regarded as a great prime minister, but as a poet he had a style somewhat different from the Xikun style (Li Shangyin's style) that was popular among high-ranking officials at the time, and was influenced by Wang Wei, Wei Yingwu, and Meng Jiao, and many of his poems were detailed poems that expressed the melancholy of nature. However, he was criticized for being too sentimental for a prime minister. Collection of poems "Collection of Poems by Duke Kou Zhongmin".

中国，北宋初期の政治家，詩人。華州下哨 (かけい。陝西省) の人。字は平仲。諡は忠愍 (ちゅうびん) 。太平興国4 (979) 年進士に及第。大理評事，枢密院直学士，塩鉄判官などを歴任，太宗から深く信任されたが，あまりにも剛直であったため，地方に左遷された。真宗が即位すると中央に帰り，景徳1 (1004) 年宰相となり，契丹の侵入に対して功績を上げた。のち莱国 (らいこく) 公に封じられたので，寇莱公とも呼ばれる。しかし再び左遷され，衡州 (湖南省) の司馬として没した。名宰相として評判が高かったが，詩人としては当時の高官の間で流行した西崑体 (李商隠の詩風) とはやや異なった詩風をもち，王維，韋応物，孟郊らの影響を受け，自然の哀愁をこまやかに歌った詩が多い。ただ，宰相の詩としては感傷的にすぎるとの評があった。詩集『寇忠愍公詩集』。
