Jarnach, P.

...Busoni composed the work from his own libretto. The unfinished parts were completed by his pupil Philipp Jarnach (1892-), and the work premiered in Dresden in 1925. Although it makes reference to Goethe's work in terms of grammar and other aspects, the subject matter is based on the Faust legend and traditional puppet theatre.
