Extra vehicular activity

...An astronaut wears a space suit and engages in activities in outer space outside a spacecraft. The name was given because the way an astronaut acts in a space suit in a weightless environment is similar to swimming underwater in a wetsuit, but the correct term should be EVA (extra vehicular activity). The first time was in March 1965, when Soviet (now Russian) cosmonaut AA Leonov engaged in 10 minutes of activity on the Voskhod 2 spacecraft.
