A painter from the Qing Dynasty in China. His pen name was Wei Zhi. His pen names included Shoen and Nancun. He was from Liaoyang. He became an official and was appointed as the Minister of Justice. He was famous for his finger paintings, which he did without a brush, using the pads of his fingers and his nails. He was skilled in landscapes, people, flowers, trees, birds, animals, and fish, and his finger paintings, which had a strong ink and spirit, were sought after by the public, so there are few of his brush and ink paintings. It is unknown from whom he learned the finger painting technique. Another painter who did finger paintings was Gao Fenghan (1683-1743), but in Japan Ike no Taiga is the most famous.
