Keyboard instrument - Kenban Gakki (English spelling) keyboard instrument English

A general term for musical instruments with keyboards, such as pianos and organs. Since there are various sound-generating mechanisms operated by the keys, it is a one-sided category in musical instrument classification. Keyboard instruments have relatively free sound-generating mechanisms, which makes it possible for large instruments such as organs to be played by one person, but they also have the disadvantage of making it difficult for the player to be closely involved with the instrument. Most instruments produce sound indirectly, and the player has no control over the tuning or sound change from onset to silence. However, there are some instruments, such as the accordion, whose performance is greatly influenced by actions other than key operation. On the other hand, because the relationship between sounds is easy to grasp visually, they play a major role in education and theoretical research. Other advantages include the ability to play multiple notes and chords in any combination, and the ability to play instruments with similar playing devices (such as the clavichord and harpsichord).
