Carax - Carax

…an ancient kingdom located at the mouth of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, at the head of the Persian Gulf. The region was called Messene, but was later called Caracene after its principal city, Charax. Hyspaosines, who was appointed governor by the Seleucid king Antiochus IV, established the kingdom in the second half of the 2nd century BCE.
