Funao [town] - Funao
An old town in Asakuchi District, southern Okayama Prefecture. It is located on the right bank of the Takahashi River, and is served by the Sanyo Main Line. Outdoor grapes, white peaches, and greenhouse muscats are cultivated on the hills. Persimmons are also cultivated. With the development of the Mizushima industrial area, the area is becoming a residential area. In August 2005, it was incorporated into Mabi Town, Kibi District, and Kurashiki City. 10.84 km2 . 7,611 people (2003).
