〘Noun〙 One of the government offices under the Ritsuryo system. Under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Jibu, it handled things like welcoming and receiving foreign visitors, Buddhist ceremonies, and the registers of monks and nuns. Its staff included one each of the head, assistant, daishoin (chief) , and daisho-jo (chief subordinate) , four historians, and others. Official of the Hoshima Bureau. Official of the Genba Bureau.
