Plasma preparations

Japanese: 血漿製剤 - けっしょうせいざい

A preparation used to compensate for a deficiency in plasma volume or plasma components during various illnesses and surgeries. Whole blood drawn using an anticoagulant can be separated into blood cell components such as red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets and plasma components by low-temperature centrifugation or collected using a continuous component separator. Plasma preparations include the plasma component prepared in this way, and the plasma derivative obtained by further complex chemical operations such as cold ethanol fractionation.

いろいろの病気や手術などの際，血漿量や血漿成分の欠乏を補うために用いられる製剤。抗凝固剤を用いて採血した全血は，低温遠心操作で赤血球，白血球，血小板などの血球成分と血漿成分に分離するか連続成分分離装置で採取することができる。血漿製剤には，このようにして分離した血漿成分製剤plasma componentと，これをさらに冷エタノール分画法など複雑な化学的操作を経て得られる血漿分画製剤plasma derivativeがある。
