〘 noun 〙① A gathering held at night. A night gathering. Also, a night tea party. ※Sekishu Sanhyakujo (1665) 1 "At a night or morning gathering, the host is brought out with a candle to welcome him." In particular, a gathering held after dinner for the purpose of Western-style socializing, such as a concert or ball. ※Tokyo Akebono Shimbun - July 11, 1881 (Meiji 14) "After the gathering, the night party is held in another room." 3.
