A newspaper founded in India in 1880. Its name means "lion". It was published in Poona, Maharashtra, by B. Tilak, a radical leader of the Indian nationalist movement. It was written in Marathi and aimed to raise political consciousness among the masses and to spread anti-British propaganda.
