Ashikuraji Temple

Japanese: 芦峅寺 - あしくらじ

A district on a river terrace on the right bank of the Jōganji River in Tateyama Town, southeastern Toyama Prefecture. It is located about 20 km southeast of Toyama City. There is a prayer hall and lodgings for Oyama Shrine, whose main shrine is located at the summit of Mt. Tateyama, and together with Iwakuraji Temple, it flourished as a base for Tateyama worship. The entire Ashikuraji district, covering an area of about 250,000 km2 ^, has been developed into a historic park called Tateyama Fudoki no Oka, and includes a museum, the former Shima family residence (an important cultural property), the former Arima family residence, and more. In the surrounding area, there is a ski resort and the National Tateyama Youth Nature Center.

富山県南東部，立山町の常願寺川右岸の河岸段丘上の地区。富山市の南東約 20kmのところにある。立山山頂に峰本社をもつ雄山 (おやま) 神社の祈願殿，宿坊があって，岩峅寺とともに立山信仰の基地として栄えた。芦峅寺地区一帯約 25万 km²は立山風土記の丘という史跡公園として整備されており，資料館，旧嶋家住宅 (重要文化財) ，旧有馬家住宅などがあり，周辺にはスキー場，国立立山少年自然の家などがある。
