Chung water - Keisui

Japanese: 涇水 - けいすい

A tributary of the Wei River (Wei River) in central Shaanxi Province, China, also called the Jing River. It originates in the Liupan Mountains, on the border between Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Gansu Province, flows southeast, and joins the Wei River near the center of the Wei River Basin. It is about 450 km long. As it passes through the Loess Plateau, the water is cloudy with a lot of sediment, and is contrasted with the clear main Wei River as the Jing Wei River. It has been used for irrigation since early times, with the Zhengguo Canal being opened in the Qin Dynasty to connect it to the Luo River to the east, and the White Canal being opened during the reign of Emperor Wu of Han, connecting it directly to the Wei River.

中国，陝西省中部の渭河(渭水)の支流，涇河ともいう。寧夏回族自治区と甘粛省の境界，六盤（りくばん）山系に発し，南東へ流れ，渭河盆地の中央付近で渭河と合流する。全長約450km。黄土高原をへるため土砂が多く水はにごり，〈涇渭〉として本流の澄んだ渭河と対比される。秦代に東方の洛河とを結ぶ鄭国渠（ていこくきよ）が開かれ，また，漢の武帝時代には渭河に直結する白渠も開削されるなど，早くから灌漑に利用されてきた。
