1909-1973 An editor from the Showa era.
Born December 22, 1909. Joined Bungeishunjusha in 1933, worked on editing "Hanashi" and became editor-in-chief of "Local Report" in 1946. Participated in the founding of Bungeishunju Shinsha in 1946, became editor-in-chief of "Bungei Shunju", and used non-fiction to increase circulation. Became president in 1966. Died February 13, 1973. Age 63. Born in Tokyo. Graduated from Tokyo Imperial University. Works include "Editor's Statement" and "History Lover".

明治42年12月22日生まれ。昭和8年文芸春秋社にはいり,「話」の編集に従事,15年「現地報告」の編集長。21年文芸春秋新社の創立に参加し「文芸春秋」編集長となり,ノンフィクションを活用して部数をのばした。41年社長。昭和48年2月13日死去。63歳。東京出身。東京帝大卒。著作に「編集者の発言」「歴史好き」など。
