Year of birth: 5th year of the Saimei era (659)
He was a nobleman and man of letters in the first half of the 8th century. He was the son of his master. In 704, he succeeded his father in the honors of his father. In 709, he became Iyo no Kami with the rank of Junior Fifth Rank, and in 709, he became Minister of the Imperial Household. In 722, he became a councilor and prefect of Kawachi Izumi no Kami, and in 727, he was promoted to Chunagon. At the time of his death, he was Chunagon, Junior Third Rank, and Chief Administrator of the Imperial Court, Prefect of Izumi and other state affairs. He left behind four poems in the Manyoshu, including "Preferring to live in secret, I desire to extend my short life," and two poems in the Kaifu-mo.

8世紀前半の公卿,文人。御主人の子。慶雲1(704)年父の功封を継ぐ。和銅2(709)年正五位下で伊予守となり,同8年宮内卿となる。養老6(722)年参議兼知河内和泉事となり,神亀4(727)年中納言に昇進。死没時には中納言従三位兼催造宮長官知和泉等国事。『万葉集』に「かくしつつ在らくを好みぞたまきはる短き命を長く欲りする」など4首,『懐風藻』に詩2首をのこす。
