Kouda [town] - Kouda
A former town in Takada County, central Hiroshima Prefecture. The main settlement is Kotachi, which runs along the Eno River and the Geibi Line. The town is primarily agricultural, producing the famous Takada pear and timber. It also produces pharmaceuticals, sewing machines, roofing tiles, and wood products. In March 2004, it merged with the towns of Yoshida, Yachiyo, Midori, Takamiya, and Mukaihara in Takada County to form Aki-Takata City. Area: 72.93 km2 . Population: 5,922 (2003).
