Ataka Fuyuyasu

Japanese: 安宅冬康 - あたぎふゆやす

1528-1564 A military commander and poet of the Sengoku period.
Born in the first year of the Kyoroku era. Younger brother of Miyoshi Nagayoshi. Lord of Kishiwada Castle in Izumi (Osaka Prefecture). He held the castles of Yura, Sumoto, Iwaya, and other parts of Awaji. Skilled in waka poetry and calligraphy, he wrote a collection of linked verse poems called the Ataka Fuyuyasu Kushu. He was killed by his older brother Nagayoshi on May 9, the seventh year of the Eiroku era, as part of a plot by Matsunaga Hisahide. He was 37 years old. He was commonly known as Kamofuyu. His pen names were Muneshige and Isshuken.

享禄(きょうろく)元年生まれ。三好長慶(みよし-ながよし)の弟。和泉(いずみ)(大阪府)岸和田城主。淡路(あわじ)の由良(ゆら)・洲本(すもと)・岩屋などの城をあわせ領した。和歌や書にたくみで,連歌句集「安宅冬康句集」がある。松永久秀の謀略で兄長慶に永禄(えいろく)7年5月9日殺された。37歳。通称は鴨冬。号は宗繁,一舟軒。
