An official from the first half of the 7th century. He is the same person as Abe no Uchimaro and is also written as Maro. He was the son of Abe no Tori, a court official during the reign of Suiko, and in the "Kugyo Bunin" he is listed as Minister Otori. In 624, Suiko 32, he was ordered by Soga no Umako to petition for the transfer of Katsuragi Prefecture. After Suiko's death, he co-hosted a meeting with Soga no Emishi to decide on the successor to the emperor, and supported Prince Tamura (later Emperor Jomei). After the Isshi Incident (Taika Reforms) in 645, he became Minister of the Left. His daughter, Oashihime, became Empress Kōtoku and gave birth to Prince Arima, and Tachibana no Musume became Empress Tenchi and gave birth to Princess Asuka and Princess Nittabe. In the fourth year of the Taika era, four Buddha statues were placed at Shitennoji Temple (Tennoji Ward, Osaka City) to create Mount Vulture Peak, and the "Daian-ji Garan Engi and Ryuki Zaizaicho" records that he became the head of the construction of the Baekje Great Temple during the reign of Saimei. <References> Akira Seki, "About Abe no Uchimaro, the Left Minister of the Taika Era" (Rekishi, No. 21)

7世紀前半の官人。阿倍内麻呂と同一人物で摩侶とも記す。推古朝の大夫阿倍鳥の子で,『公卿補任』には大鳥大臣と号したとある。推古32(624)年蘇我馬子の命を受け,葛城県を譲与するよう奏請。推古の死後には蘇我蝦夷と後継天皇を決める会議を共催し,田村皇子(のちの舒明天皇)を擁立。大化1(645)年の乙巳の変(大化の改新)後,左大臣に就任した。なお娘の小足媛が孝徳妃となって有間皇子を生み,橘娘が天智妃となって飛鳥皇女,新田部皇女を生んでいる。大化4年四天王寺(大阪市天王寺区)に仏像4体を安置して霊鷲山を作り,また『大安寺伽藍縁起并流記資財帳』には斉明朝に百済大寺造寺司となったとある。<参考文献>関晃「大化の左大臣阿倍内麻呂について」(『歴史』21号)
