…The article in the Shoku Nihongi, which states that Taki Daijingu-ji Temple was moved to Watarai-gun in December 698, is difficult to establish as a reliable proof of Daijingu-ji Temple because the character for temple is not included in the old manuscript, but the article in the same book for July 766 states that the Imperial Court sent an envoy to build a 18-foot Buddha statue for Ise Daijingu-ji Temple. In addition, the Daijingu Shozajiki states that in 767, an imperial decree was issued to make Oukasedera Temple Daijingu-ji Temple, but in 776, it was abolished due to the disturbance of the temple's monks. The temple site where old tiles were excavated in Oukasedera, Taki-cho, Taki-gun, Mie Prefecture, is said to be the site of Oukasedera Temple. …
