Japanese architecture was made of wood for a long time until the introduction of Western architecture after the Meiji Restoration, which led to the use of brick and stone construction. From a global perspective, this style is part of the Chinese architectural style, along with Korean architecture, and most of its structure and form were introduced from China. However, some things were started in Japan, and Japan has created a unique style in terms of the handling of details, the nature of curves, and the sophistication of design. Among Japan's traditional wooden architecture, shrine and temple architecture has long dominated the architectural world, and its structure has developed into the most technically advanced Japanese wooden structure.
