Xerxes [I] - Xerxes
King of the Achaemenid Empire of Persia (reigned 486-465 BC). Son of Darius I. In 480 BC, he carried out his father's last will and testament to Greece (the Persian Wars), but was defeated in the Battle of Salamis. In the latter half of his reign, power struggles among his close associates intensified, leading to his assassination.
