Craftsmen who make combs. Two comb-makers are seen among the miscellaneous workers in the Uchinoryo-shiki in the Engishiki, but the Uchinoryo Mikushisho, whose main base was in Kogi-go, Izumi Province, and who received an imperial decree of exemption from various duties in 1135 (Hōen 1), are likely a group that descended from them. This group, who contributed combs of five sections, was affiliated with the Emperor, the Innocent, and the Sekkan-ke as Mikushi-kugonin, In no Mikushi-tsukuri, and Konoe-dono no Mikushi-tsukuri, and was given exempted fields in Kogi-go and was provided with rice. The Uchinoryo territory of Kogi-no-yasu and the Konoe family territory of Mikushi-tsukuri were territories centered on the exempted fields, and in 1224 (Gennin 1), the profits from the Mikushisho fields were used for the production of kamiimameki comb oil, and in 1333 (Genkō 3), Kogi-no-yasu presented 40 bundles of combs to the Uchinoryo.
