...For the Do-sai, a pure person suitable to be a priest is selected as the priest based on the opinions of the elders. In the household of the priest selected, a rope is hung around the door, the husband fasts and bathes, and the whole family begins preparing the offerings. After the festival ends, the villagers gather at the priest's house to drink and eat the offerings. In the past, a farming band (farmers' band) made up of young villagers would visit the village boundaries, the common well, the square, the sacred tree, and each household, and perform a "jishin-tampimi" (a ritual to ward off evil spirits) in the garden to ward off evil spirits, collecting donations from each household, or even traveling to other villages to use the income for village business.
