Kyojofu - Today's climb

A person who carried taxes and other items from a local manor to the manor lord in Kyoto, or performed other miscellaneous tasks. This was one of the labor services imposed by the manor lord on the people, and was named after the fact that the manors traveled to Kyoto to perform this labor service. 地方の荘園から京都の荘園領主へ，年貢その他を運搬したり，雑役に従事した者。荘園領主が荘民に課す夫役 (ぶやく) の一つで，京都に上って夫役に従事したのでこの名がある。
