Total mobilization movement for religious education

Japanese: 教化総動員運動 - きょうかそうどういんうんどう

In 1929, the Ministry of Education mobilized educational and educational organizations nationwide to launch a movement to raise the national polity and national spirit. The purpose of the movement was to carry out a "major financial and economic reorganization," to promote the "essence of the national polity," and to overcome the "ideological and economic crises of the nation" by inciting a "beautiful culture of frugality, hard work, and determination." To this end, the Youth Association, women's associations, veterans' associations, religious organizations, and all other educational organizations were literally mobilized, and through lectures, talks, printed materials, films, and other means, they urged all citizens to cooperate in overcoming the crisis. As the Sino-Japanese War intensified, this movement was succeeded by the National Spirit Mobilization Movement in 1937, and was particularly significant in that it paved the way for the fascistization of Japan.

1929年文部省が全国の教育団体，教化団体を動員して展開した国体観念，国民精神の高揚運動。運動の目的は「財政経済の一大整理緊縮」の断行，「国体の精華」の発揚，「質素剛健，勤倹力行の美風」の振起による「思想国難，経済国難」の克服にあるとされた。そのために青年団，婦人会，在郷軍人会，宗教団体その他一切の教化団体が文字どおり総動員され，講演，講話，印刷物，映画などを通じて，すべての国民に難局打開への協力を迫った。日中戦争の激化につれて，この運動は 37年の国民精神総動員運動に引継がれていくが，特に日本ファシズム化の道を開いた点で重要な意味をもっている。
