〘Noun〙 In the Nara period, a guard officer was provided by the Imperial Court to officials who were assigned to border provinces or military important places. It was given to the Sokan, Settushi, Azechi, Chinjufu Shogun, Dazai no Sochi, Daini, Sankan no Kuni no Kami, Mutsu Dewa no Kuni no Kami, etc. ※Shoku Nihongi - Wadou 1st Year ( 708 ) March Otsuu "Imperial Order.
