…In China, the cultivation of rapeseeds has been popular since ancient times, and the leaves and flower buds have been used as vegetables, and the seeds as oil. In Japan, pickled vegetables were developed in ancient records, such as Aona, which is similar to turnips, Undai, which is similar to kukitachina and hatakena, and Mizuna, which is similar to kyouna and mibuna (Wamyo-sho). In the Edo period, Tosai, the original species of Nagasaki Chinese cabbage (Nagasaki Travelogue), and Shirakusai, which belongs to non-heading Chinese cabbage (Keisei Zusetsu), were seen, and in the early Meiji period, Taisai and Santosai were introduced. …中国では古くよりアブラナ(ナタネ)類の栽培が盛んで，葉や花蕾（からい）が野菜として，また種子が油料として利用されてきた。日本での漬菜の発達は，カブに近い〈あおな〉，アブラナに近いクキタチナやハタケナにあたる〈うんだい〉，キョウナやミブナにあたる〈みずな〉が古い記録に現れ(《和名抄》)，江戸時代にはナガサキハクサイの原種である〈唐菜〉(《長崎見聞録》)や非結球ハクサイに属する〈白茎菜〉(《成形図説》)が見られ，明治初年にはタイサイやサントウサイが導入された。また古くから中国などより渡来，導入されたアブラナ類やカブなどが複雑に交雑を重ね，各地方の風土に合った漬菜類が分化し，土着して日本独自の多くの品種ができ上がった。…
