... Ascocentrum was once classified as part of the Saccolabium genus. It has also been crossed with Vanda to produce Ascocenda , and with Neotropical orchid to produce Ascofinetia , and has been cultivated as intergeneric hybrids, which are also noteworthy for their improved varieties. It needs at least 10°C to survive the winter, and should be exposed to sunlight through cheesecloth from spring to autumn outdoors.
