Tomonaga Kinjo
1902-1955 A Showa-era Okinawa researcher and dialectologist.
Born on May 18, 1902. Influenced by Iha Fuyu, who was also from Okinawa. Participated in the Nanto Danwakai (Southern Island Discussion Group) with Kunio Yanagita and others, and achieved results in Okinawan studies, especially in research on the Ryukyuan dialect. Died on March 10, 1955, at the age of 52. Graduated from Tokyo School of Foreign Languages ​​(now Tokyo University of Foreign Studies). Written works include "Thoughts on Different Customs and Customs" and "An Overview of the Naha Dialect."

明治35年5月18日生まれ。おなじ沖縄出身の伊波普猷(いは-ふゆう)の影響をうける。柳田国男らの南島談話会に参加,沖縄研究,とくに琉球(りゅうきゅう)方言の研究に成果をあげた。昭和30年3月10日死去。52歳。東京外国語学校(現東京外大)卒。著作に「異態習俗考」「那覇方言概説」など。
