Ofure - Touch

Japanese: 御触 - おふれ
Ofure - Touch
Laws and regulations promulgated widely by the shogunate and various feudal domains during the Edo period: Shogunate laws and regulations were distributed by the senior councilors to metsuke and the three magistrates with the shogun's approval, and were passed on through them as necessary. Laws and regulations that were established as general guidelines were called "hatto" (laws), notices that were only given to those involved were called "tatsushi" (notices), and notices that were widely shared with the general public were called "hoshosho" (notices). The "Keian Gohoshosho" promulgated in 1649 (Keian 2) is famous. Collections of these include the "Gohoshosho Kanpo Shusei," "Gohoshosho Horeki Shusei," "Gohoshosho Tenmei Shusei," and "Gohoshosho Tenpo Shusei."
