〘Noun〙 A perennial plant of the Cactaceae family. A type of cactus, it grows to a height of 20-130 cm and a diameter of 40-80 cm. It does not branch out, is bright yellow-green, and has 20-37 ridges. The thorns are covered with yellow fluff. The thorns are about 3 cm long. Native to Mexico. 〘名〙 サボテン科の多年草。タマサボテンの一種で、高さ二〇~一三〇センチメートル、径四〇~八〇センチメートルになる。枝は出さず、鮮黄緑色で、二〇~三七の稜がある。刺点は黄色の綿毛におおわれる。とげは長さ約三センチメートル。メキシコ原産。
