Qi-shan; Ch`i-shan

A mountain in the northeast of Fengxiang County, Shaanxi Province, China. It is famous for being the capital of the Western Zhou dynasty (→ Zhou), when Gu Gong Tanfu, the ancestor of King Wu three generations before, moved from Hing to the southern foot of the mountain until King Wen, the father of King Wu, moved the capital to Fangjing (near present-day Xi'an). 中国，陝西省鳳翔県の北東にある山。西周 (→周 ) の始王，武王の3代前の祖である古公亶父 (ここうたんぽ) が，ひんから移り，武王の父，文王がほう京 (現西安付近) に都を移すまでの間，この山の南麓が都とされたことにより有名。付近には周代の遺跡，遺物が多い。
