…Greek Revival (style). Refers to the rediscovery and application of Greek style, seen mainly in neoclassical architecture from the mid-18th century onwards. The start of this movement was the publication in 1762 of The Antiquities of Athens by J. Stuart and N. Revett, based on field research.
