Dangerous and harmful work - kiken yuugaigyomu

Japanese: 危険有害業務 - きけんゆうがいぎょうむ

A term that includes both dangerous and harmful work. Some industrial work is considered dangerous and harmful because it threatens the safety and health of workers and may induce work-related accidents or occupational diseases depending on the type of machinery used, the type of materials manufactured or handled, and other working environments and conditions. Related working environments and conditions include dangerous machine tools and facilities such as presses, extremely high or low temperatures, noise, vibration, abnormal air pressure, oxygen deficiency, harmful ionizing radiation, dust and other harmful chemicals, and handling heavy objects, but underground work and night shifts are also considered dangerous or harmful.

危険な業務および有害な業務を併せいう言葉。産業労働のなかには，使用する機械等の種類，製造しまたは取り扱う物質の種類，そのほか作業環境･作業条件により，労働者の安全衛生を脅かし，労働災害や職業病を誘発するおそれのある危険有害業務とされるものがある。それに関係する労働の環境や条件には，プレス等危険な工作機械や施設，著しい高温･寒冷，騒音，振動，異常気圧，酸素欠乏，有害電離放射線，粉塵（ふんじん）その他有害化学物質，さらに重量物取扱い等の作業があげられるが，坑内労働や深夜業も危険または有害とみなされる。
