Bunraku puppet theater. Historical piece. Five acts. Written by Chikamatsu Monzaemon. First performed at the Takemotoza Theater in Osaka in January 1724 (Kyoho 9). Takemoto Masadayu narrates the third act. The story revolves around the rivalry between Taira no Masakado's orphaned children, Soma siblings Yoshikado and Kocho, and Minamoto no Yorimitsu's younger brothers, Yorinobu and Yorihira. Following in their father Masakado's footsteps, Yoshikado and Kocho plot to take over the country, and Kocho infiltrates Yorimitsu's residence as a maid. On the night that Yorimitsu's successor is to be decided, Kocho instigates Yorimitsu to steal his brother Yorinobu's fiance, Eika no Mae, and escape. Yoshikado takes Eika no Mae hostage, and Yorihira sides with Yoshikado, becoming an enemy of the court.

人形浄瑠璃。時代物。5段。近松門左衛門作。1724年(享保9)1月大坂竹本座初演。三段目を竹本政太夫が語る。平将門の遺児，相馬良門･小蝶の兄妹と，源頼光の弟たち，頼信･頼平の抗争を題材とする。父将門の志をついで，良門･小蝶は天下をうかがい，小蝶は頼光邸に腰元として潜入する。頼光の跡目定めの夜，小蝶にそそのかされて頼平は兄頼信の許嫁詠歌の前を奪って脱出する。良門に詠歌の前を人質にとられ，頼平は良門に味方し朝敵となる。
