...The town is underdeveloped and belongs to the commercial district of Kaseda City to the south. During the feudal era, many people left the prefecture to work as barrel craftsmen called "Ata Tanko," but now many of them work in tea factories within the prefecture. The Takahashi shell mound from the early Yayoi period is located here.
