Located about 7km south of Luoyang , a city in the western Henan province of China, is the tomb of Guan Yu, a hero of the Records of the Three Kingdoms and a general of Shu. Guan Yu fought and was defeated by Sun Quan of Wu at Dangyang near Yichang in Hubei province. Sun Quan presented Guan Yu's head to Cao Cao of Wei, but legend has it that Cao Cao, fearing a curse, buried the head here with great care. In the densely wooded grounds, there is a statue of Guan Yu, as well as an exhibition room for the tombstones of successive generations and three halls, and behind the three halls is the tomb of Guandi. ◇It is also called the "Guanlin Temple."

中国の河南(かなん)省西部の都市・洛陽(らくよう)（ルオヤン）南方約7kmのところにある、三国志の英雄で、蜀の武将、関羽の首塚。関羽は、呉の孫権と湖北省の宜昌の近くの当陽で戦い、破れた。孫権は魏の曹操に関羽の首を贈ったが、たたりを恐れた曹操は、その首をこの地に手厚く葬ったという言い伝えが残っている。樹木がうっそうと茂る敷地に、関羽の像のほか、歴代の墓志碑の展示室や三殿があり、三殿の後方には関帝塚がある。◇「関林廟」とも呼ばれる。
