Titles of Noh, Jiuta, Nagauta, and Kabuki dance pieces. (1) Titles of Noh pieces. In the Kanze school, it is written as "Ama." The fifth piece. Written before Zeami. The shite is the spirit of a female diver. Minister Fujiwara Fusasaki (child actor) learns that his birth mother was a diver from Shido-no-ura in Sanuki and visits the area. When he asks the diver who has come along, he learns the circumstances of his birth mother's death. A jewel that was once sent from China was stolen by a dragon god on the way. Fujiwara Tankai, who has come all the way to this place, orders the diver with whom he has made a pact to retrieve the jewel, and promises that the child born will be his successor.

能，地歌，長唄，歌舞伎舞踊の曲名。(1)能の曲名。観世流は〈海士〉と書く。五番目物。世阿弥以前の作。シテは海人の女の霊。大臣藤原房前（ふささき）(子方)は生母が讃岐（さぬき）の志渡の浦の海人だと知ってその地を訪れる。来かかった海人に尋ねると，生母の死の経緯を知っていた。かつて唐土から送られた宝珠が，途中で竜神に奪われた。わざわざこの地まで来た藤原淡海は，契りを交わした海人に宝珠の奪還を命じ，生まれた子を後継ぎにすると約束した。
