Intragovernment politics. One of the three models proposed by G. Allison. He proposed three models for the analysis of foreign policy decision-making through his study of the Cuban Missile Crisis. In this model, political decisions are not the product of a rational or intellectual process, nor are they the product of a mechanical process within an organization, but rather the product of interactions, including bargaining, between individual players involved in political decision-making. It is called the "intragovernment politics model" because it focuses on the political process between actors within the government in particular. For example, in the case of the United States, the main actors are the president and his cabinet members and cabinet-level advisors.
