The only thing they have in common is the ethylamine structure ( _-CH2 - _CH2 -N=), but the rest of the structure is diverse (see Table, Table (continued)). _H1 blockers have almost no similarity to histamine other than the ethylamine structure, while _H2 blockers have a structure more similar to histamine.
[Action and indications]
_H1 blockers are used to treat allergic diseases by utilizing their natural effects.
