A kibyōshi author from the late Edo period. His real name was Ichiba Nenichi. His pen name was Kohiko, and he was commonly known as Oguraya Koheiji. He also went by the names Kyokuntei and Sanbunsei, and his haiku name was Tachibana Shizuku. He was a native of Edo. He was a mounter in Toriabura-chō, Nihonbashi, and made his debut in the world of kibyōshi in 1779 (An'ei 8) with his debut work Usotsuki Yajirō Keisei no Makoto (Usotsuki Yajirō Keisei no Makoto). Since then, he worked with artists such as Torii Kiyonaga and Kitao Masayoshi, and produced around 100 kibyōshi works by 1802 (Kyōwa 2). He remained single his whole life, and was known as the "sage of the city" for his eccentric nature, but he loved his younger brother's children, and many of his works were old-fashioned and didactic, aimed at children, so he was called the "laugher of Kyokun." His major works include "Lesson-Told Mosquito Curse" and "Instant Learning by Listening."
