Dry farming - Kansou no Ugyo

...This refers to a farming method that does not use irrigation in areas with an annual rainfall of 500 mm or less, but instead uses rainfall to store the water needed for crops in the soil, aiming to cultivate crops stably, although with low yields, in areas with an annual rainfall of approximately 500 mm or less, although this varies depending on the seasonality of rain, wind strength, and soil properties. It is also called dryland agriculture or arid agriculture. Areas with an annual rainfall of 500 mm or less account for more than 50% of the world, and are widely distributed in the northwestern United States, Australia, northern Asia, and the Mediterranean coast.
