Charles Bridge - Karluv Most

Charles Bridge - Karluv Most

It is a multi-span stone arch bridge spanning the Vltava River in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, with a total length of approximately 500 meters. It was planned by Charles IV and completed over a long period of time, from the mid-14th century to the early 16th century. The bridge itself is in a medieval style, but the bridge towers and the balustrades with statues show signs of its connection to the Renaissance, making it a rare bridge that is counted among the most famous bridges in Europe. The historic center of Prague, where the bridge is located, was registered as a World Heritage Site in 1992 (World Cultural Heritage).
