When used as materials, polymers are generally expected to be physically and chemically stable. For example, if a highly chemically reactive polymer is used as a material, it is disadvantageous that it is prone to decomposition and deterioration when exposed to moisture and oxygen in the air, as well as light and heat during use. On the other hand, there are various applications in which the reactivity of polymers is actively utilized, and in these cases, it is desirable for the polymer to have a relatively high reactivity under normal conditions. Such polymers are called reactive polymers. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
