Japanese: 還魂紙料 - かんごんしりょう

A historical research essay from the late Edo period. Written by Ryutei Tanehiko. With some illustrations by Tameichi (Katsushika Hokusai). Published in 1826 (Bunsei 9). 2 volumes and 2 books. Some people use the word "Suki kaeshi" on the pillar of the original as the title, but Tanehiko himself read it aloud in the combined volume published in the same year. Completed in 1824. Volume 1 contains 17 entries, Volume 2 contains 11 entries and 7 supplementary notes. A highly advanced historical research book that uses examples from old haiku books and copies of old paintings to show meticulous research on famous actors, plays, performing arts, customs, etc. from the early Edo period.
